Meet Jaime Melfi of Autumn Nomad, Cakes & Cafe in Jackson - June 19, 2018
"I grew up in Medford, New Jersey outside of Philadelphia. I had ambitions to design clothing and funky wedding dresses. After graduating from Appalachian State University, in Boone NC with a degree in Fine Arts, Textiles, and Marketing, I started working for Free People and Anthropologie. After years of trying to get my name out there, I realized the fashion industry just wasn’t for me. I started teaching art, doing interior design, graphic design, and really just anything creative to get my name out there. I finally made the jump into Cake Artistry and never looked back. I picked it up very quickly and it’s really all of the art forms I’ve been doing over the span of my life, just edible!"

"From Catherine Threlkeld Photography: Nicole Mower Weddings + Events planned the perfect same-sex boho wedding styled shoot. She brought together the perfect details, including a cake by Autumn Nomad dotted with dreamcatchers and food trucks from Rustic Taps and Sweet B's to make the entire affair seem like a music festival. Tops'l Farm's secluded woods is the perfect location for an intimate ceremony adorned with a handmade macrame backdrop. The suspended cake table adorned with succulents complimented the playful, summer vibe."

"From Rachel Buckley Weddings – “Alexandra and Wes have a unique story in that they have had a long distance relationship for the majority of their engagement. Wes is located stateside running a stand up paddleboard company in New England while Alexandra, a dual citizen, is studying for her masters in Sweden.
While the plan was always to lean towards the non-traditional, they took it a step further; while Alexandra was back in the states for the summer, and sort of on a last-minute whim, they decided to turn their engagement party into a ‘pop up’ wedding!"

Beauty of Autumn Party at O'Maine Studios in Maine - DECEMBER 21 2017
"We celebrated the beauty of autumn at O’Maine Studios in Maine. Christina of Pinch Me Planning mixed and matched textures and bold colors at the industrial venue. The saturated and muted hues of the floral created a beautiful contrast against the white walls. The hanging cooper light fixtures (The Event Light Pros) created dimension and made the room pop! We especially loved the live music for setting a chill vibe (The Dapper Gents) paired with the cool bar setup (Maine Mixologist). A few other elements we couldn’t get enough of were the velvet linens (Peak Event Services), unique cakes (Autumn Nomad), and the use of textures. The attendees were so much fun and showed us how close the Maine wedding community is. Check out more of the autumn vibes from the night captured by the talented Chris Bennett Photography!"

"We love the wild splendor that accompanies this Maine woodland wedding. Photographer Emily Delamater shared this elegant, magical styled wedding inspiration shoot that celebrated the beauty within the woods and cliffs of Maine’s coast. The wooded springtime theme was inspired by the Brontë sisters and earthy poems of Robert Frost. A Family Affair provided props and furniture to create a the idea of a cathedral in the woods, off the beaten path and in the wilderness. Coco Design Company utilized warm tangerine, pale pink, and bright green create a unique and ethereal feel while maintaining tradition and elegance."
